More to welcome you at our Village Green and Tea Garden

If you’ve visited us recently, you’ll have seen the wonderful changes that have taken place to keep attracting our loyal supporters, friends, and members of the Kloof and Highway community to keep supporting our valuable generation of income.

Many charities depend heavily on the success of their thrift shops to keep going.  And this is evident in the increase in number of thrift shops in our area.

If you haven’t visited us recently, please come and see the changes for yourself, and enjoy your SPCA’s hospitality as well as a shopping opportunity.

The very popular Fine Feathers shop has been re-opened which specialises in good quality ladies clothing.  Now back in the original building with funky décor and a lovely vibe, Fine Feathers is well worth a browse.

The Hidden Treasures tent has been closed to make more space in the tea garden for the public to enjoy our beautiful venue.  The remaining tent is Ella Bella where you’ll still find clothes, bric-a-brac, and many other unexpected gems.

Two rooms have also been opened in the Tea Garden house – one for Christmas in July, and the second one is a bridal room full of beautiful, donated wedding dresses.

The Tuck Shop in the Village Green is now open again as a Spaza shop to cater for foot traffic.  Here you can buy vetkoek, popcorn, chips and sweets, samosas, cold drinks, samp and beans and many other delicious meals.

Finally, 1 July saw the opening of our new thrift shop next to our Reading Rooster book shop at the Mushroom Farm in Kassier Road.  Here, visitors to the Mushroom Farm will also find clothing, antiques and collectables, art and even some jewellery.  Donations are accepted at the shop and we also hope that this will prove to be an extra convenient location for some of our supporters.

You’ll receive a warm welcome when you visit any of your Kloof and Highway SPCA locations.  Do come – and bring your family and friends.
