The 2021 Dog Box Event
We are so grateful to our brave 2021 Dog Box participants who were locked up from noon on Friday June 4th until Saturday June 5th to raise funds for our animals. It was a very cold night, but we are happy announce that our D.O.G.S (doers of good) all survived and made bail through their fundraising endeavors. We thank all those who participated and everyone who donated. We had an awesome group of people who spent their 24 hours in our kennels (all covid regulations were followed ) Our Hidden Treasures Marquee was open in the evening, with our Manager and her dog box team doing their dog box challenge up in the tea garden area. Wonderful entertainment was provided and toasting marshmallows under the stars while watching the fire dancing exhibition.
Launch of our new stage/deck in our tea garden with sponsorship by Eva-Last and Clever Decks
A ‘deck reveal’ event was held on Saturday 19th June with a black, white and red theme in the colours of the Sponsors Logo. Eva-Last is a specialist manufacturer and distributor of Bamboo Wood Plastic composite materials and share the same passion as our Kloof and highway SPCA about caring for our planet and animals.
Our new deck is a green product made from recycled waste with no trees being cut down to provide the material. Clever Decks teamed up with Eva-Last and created this wonderful addition to our tea garden area at no cost to our Kloof and Highway SPCA. An amazing fashion show with Roberta Alessandri Models, Spanish dancing, line dancing and a fun dance competition were all part of the joyful day, with our own charismatic Kevin Ellis and Gareth Greeves co-ordinating and styling the event.
Hidden Treasures One Year Anniversary
A year ago we were in a terrible position financially due to Covid and needed to create a way of generating income with the loss of many of our volunteers and an increase in the number of animals needing our help. The opening of Hidden Treasures Marquee on 1 June 2020 is a date we will remember and celebrate as it is the day that started the realisation of a dream of creating a beautiful place where people would shop and the funds generated would ensure we could continue on with our vital work in animal welfare.
